The Mill Creek Tavern, located in the historical town of Comstock Park, first opened its doors for business in May1999. This northwestern suburb of Grand Rapids, Michigan was founded in 1838 when a sawmill was constructed there.

Home to the Mill Creek Tavern is the landmark building at 3874 West River Drive. It was built in 1897 as the North Star Hotel. Before becoming The Mill Creek Tavern, it was a popular gathering spot known as Louie's Liquor. Upon purchasing the bar, the current owners took the time to restore the interior back to its original splendor. Included in the restoration was an 1890's oak and mahogany bar and the refinishing of all the original wood.

The Mill Creek Tavern is conveniently located close to Fifth Third Ballpark, home of the West Michigan Whitecaps baseball team. Also in close proximity is the Deltaplex Entertainment and Expo Center, a popular place to catch a concert or Grand Rapids Hoops basketball game.
